NBI Clearance (step by step process) @ Robinsons Galleria

Standard

My new job requires me to submit a new NBI clearance. They want to make sure I’m not some psycho who have recently been released from jail. =)

Good thing I’m near Robinsons Galleria. Most Robinsons Malls have NBI satellite offices wherein you can get your NBI clearance. Here’s the step by step process based on my experience just this morning:

Step 1 – Go to Robinsons Galleria (EDSA side). Tell the guard on the entrance that you will be getting an NBI clearance. He will be asking you to show two valid IDs. I guess he is trying to weed out those who won’t be able to have their request process since the IDs are requirements. Today, I was there at the mall at around 8:30 AM and I got number 169.  On normal days – since its almost the holidays – you should go much much earlier. They only give out up to 500 numbers.

Step 2 – Proceed to the NBI satellite office. This one is on the lower ground floor, on the other side of the mall. So if you are coming from the EDSa side, go straight, passing Jollibee then you go down the escalator that you will see on the left side (front of Mercury Drugs), walk straight till you reach the end of the lower ground floor. You won’t miss it.

Step 3 – Once you reach the satellite office, look for the guard. He would be getting the ticket you got at the entrance. Make sure to put in your name at the ticket. After that, you wait till you get called. Since when I got there, I was advised that they are still processing number 40, I left my number with the guard and just went back after an hour.

Step 4 – Once called, they would be giving you the NBI clearance application form. Make sure to fill this out completely. When you write down your place of birth, make sure you put in the exact place. Don’t just put in Metro Manila put in Caloocan City. Right in bold letters since the encoder would be using the form to input information on your clearance certificate. Also, when you write down the ID you have presented, put in also the ID number.

Step 5 – Go to the Payment Counter. When you reach the counter, give the clerk your form, your two valid IDs, and if possible, exact fee of Php 115.  Most of the NBI clerks I have seen today are irritated. As if they are doing their jobs for free. Hmp. Oh anyways.

Step 6 – Once you’ve paid up, you will be given a receipt. You will then proceed to the Encoding Counter. Here is where they will be encoding the items you have written on the form. In the unfortunate instance wherein they don’t understand what you have written and encoded something else, you have to tell them. They will get irritated and would ask you to correct the form you have submitted. Today, one man was yelled at by the clerk. Apparently, he had indicated Biñan, Laguna City. Well of course, Laguna is not a City but the man says Biñan is. And yes, it is. Hayy but the clerk was yelling at her and was almost hysterical. Hmp.

Step 6 – After the encoding, proceed to the Biometrics Counter. Here, you will do the finger printing and the picture taking. They are already high tech so the finger printing does not involve any ink, just scanning. And they use this webcam like device to take your picture.

Step 7 – If you are lucky and they have enough paper and ink, you will be getting your clearance in less than 5 minutes after step 6.

So for those who would be getting their clearance, good luck! Hope you don’t get a hit. 🙂

    • Yup. Just make sure na maagang maaga ka para makakuha ka ng number. If you know someone who is near galleria, you can ask them to get a number for you then punta ka na lang ng 8 or 9 para sa actual processing.

      • ah. ganon ba. wala akong kilala e. agahan ko nalang. anyway kanino nga pala ako hihingi nang no? and alam mo ba yung rob otis? do you think mas ok kumuha dito sa galleria kesa sa rob otis? may blog kase dun mabilis lang daw dun.

  2. You may get a number don sa guard mismo ng mall. Go to the main entrance of the mall (facing EDSA).
Not sure if better sa Otis. That mall is located in Guazon street in Manila. Near UN Avenue.

      • Depends. If they don’t have a backlog for printing and have enough of their special paper, you would be able to get it the same day. Got mine a few minutes after the whole process.

  3. Hi.ask q lang po qnq pwede q p mkuha ung nbi result kc last august 21 p ug release ng d q nkuha kc umuwi kmi probinsya.thanks

    • As far as I know, pwede pa. The release date that they usually indicate is the earliest na pwede mo kunin ung clearance. Magiging problem na lang siguro pag more than a year na since the release date.

  4. hi! 2 valid i.d’s ba talaga kailangan kahit mag re-renew lang? kc 1 lang valid i.d ko.. pero asakin pa din yung original copy ng nbi clearance ko dati? ok lang ba yun. tia :DD
